Day 12 Wednesday March 18th was the last of our five days at sea heading to Nuka Hiva, Marquesas in French Polynesia. It was a fun sea day as we celebrated crossing the equator by sea for the first time in our lives. The celebration is explained on the front page of the Currents below, but basically, we transformed from (Slimy) Pollywogs to (Trusty) Shellbacks. If you have a chance to read the first page of the Currents it is quite entertaining and amusing.

Tonight we ate dinner at Red Ginger. Red Ginger is a specialty restaurant on Oceania Cruises offering Asian cuisine on its larger ships. The restaurant is known for its intimate, modern and striking red décor.  It provides a high-end, artistic dining experience with a focus on bold flavors and awesome presentation.

Key Dining Details:

Reservations: Typically included in the cruise fare as a specialty dining option, though reservations are required.

Menu Highlights: Known for its miso-glazed sea bass, lobster pad Thai, seven-spice crusted lamb rack, and spicy duck and watermelon salad.

Atmosphere: Features a distinct “wow factor” with red and black décor, and guests can choose their own chopsticks from a selection of choices upon arrival.

Service & Tea: Renowned for specialized tea service, featuring a dedicated server and a wide selection of teas.

Crowd growing for the Equator crossing celebration

A few extra photos from today

We had a quick bite for lunch outside The Terrace Cafe with Vicky as our waiter. He did a great job as do all the staff members

On our South America cruise, we met Jo Jo Tebbitt. On the South America cruise, it is said if you survive going around Cape Horn you could place your feet on the dining room table, so she challenged me to do the same for crossing the Equator. I was able to get one leg up before my tablemate fussed me 🙂 Jesus Christ my leg is skinny

With the humidity here if the balcony door is left open for too long look what happens in the cabin

Last post of the day, can you believe we have land on the same Cruisemapper map as the Vista? Heading to Nuka Hiva (the big island in the middle)
