Day 9 Sunday March 15th it is hard to believe we are already on day 9 of The World Cruise. Of the nine days, eight have been spent at sea but we don’t find very much free time as we are always off doing something. The library is closed for the next four days as they are playing the “escape” game. So, I cannot check out a book so I am granted a reprieve from my sentence for four more days. πŸ™‚

Woke up this morning and getting a little more sleep everyday which is good. I think we are over the time changes, at least for now. Morning was overcast and the humidity is easily above 90% as everything on the outside of the cabin and the ship itself is damp. At noon it has cleared up a little with the sun peeking through for a few minutes. Breakfast was in the main dining room and Jackie had oatmeal and a boiled egg (I am not sure where the photo of her meal and the menu went but cannot find either). I tried Swedish pancakes (crepes) and bacon. For lunch we both had meatball spaghetti in The Terrace Cafe.

Early morning skies

Noon sky getting a little better

We both had spaghetti and meatballs for lunch which was really good. The young man preparing this meal was certainly NOT tight with the meatballs

After lunch Jackie went to the spa to do whatever women do at the spa πŸ™‚ I came back to the cabin to fill out a survey. We are supposed to identify what is going good and if we had any issues. Then, at 3pm we meet up to attend the 3pm Speaker Series “The Real Robinson Crusoe: Alexander Selkirk.

Another outstanding presentation by James Grant Peterkin. It was interesting to listen to the story of Alexander Selkirk who is identified as the individual for which Daniel Defoe wrote his novel in April 1719. Tomorrow the next presentation in the series “The Mysteries of Easter Island”. The real significance of tomorrow’s presentation is that Peterkin lived on Easter Island for twenty (20) years so it should be another fascinating presentation.

After the presentation, Jackie attended her class at the Lync Digital Center which was Photography Essentials and I went take a two-hour nap. She also went to afternoon tea while I crashed. The day after a Mounjaro injection I need a nap the next afternoon and today I think with the rocking of the ship I stayed out for two hours.

I think the only reason I woke up was because the telephone was set so that when someone called the cabin the phone did not ring but the person calling starts talking. I was freaked out wondering where that voice was coming from and then in my sleep state I was talking to the person but not really sure I was talking to someone……laughing…..wild time there.

This evening we just grabbed a pizza and then went to the Horizons Lounge for Academy Awards Night to view The Academy Awards on TV. When you entered you could fill out a paper with your name, cabin number and your picks for the awards to be given out. The show was held a few hours ago and I goggled and had all the winners but I did not fill out a form. Hey, if you not cheating, you not trying!!!! πŸ™‚

Below is a photo of the entrance into the Horizons Lounge and then the popcorn that was available to eat. Some passengers were dressed in tuxedos and evening gowns for the event. We stayed for a hour and then came back to the cabin for some sleep. Tomorrow is a busy day with Jackie attending three classes and I have one class and the 3pm series presentation. Then, tomorrow night is a cocktail party and we have reservations at the Italian restaurant called Toscano.

Without Mounjaro I could have emptied all these cups. With Mounjaro I got half a cup down.
