Day 29 Saturday April 4th (91 days to go) — So, last night we skipped dinner and were sleeping by 9pm. So score for yesterday was Mounjaro – 1, Cruise – 0. The score for the previous 28 days is Mounjaro – 0, Cruise – 28. 🙂 The issue this morning related to this was we did not have service in the cabin by Ivana and Rohit. Why an issue? Because we missed the notice that we needed to push our clocks back one hour. So, this morning when we woke up at 7am, it was really 6am. 🙂
We went to breakfast and I had a chance to call Robert. He sounded great and was with my sisters, so he was enjoying the combination of pampering and abuse they provide him. 🙂
We then walked down to deck five to get a picture of the Easter decorations which I show below and even was able to post two short videos.
Also below is a copy of our African Overland Excursion that we received. It is a little wrong, but I will point this out on the photos. We are excited that we were able to select this overland, but disappointed that our new friends John and Joan were not given the excursion. David and Marta will join us on this overland excursion as will four other couples.
I will finish the day’s post later this evening.

I got a photo of Robert after my call with him this Saturday morning (Friday afternoon at home). Looks like he was given one of his birthday presents a couple of days early

It was a beautiful day today. Weather was like this from morning until night. Fingers crossed it is better tomorrow.
For breakfast this morning Lane started with oatmeal

Jackie’s concoction — Cottage Cheese and Bananas

Lane is addicted to Swiss pancakes in the morning and souffles in the evening 🙂

Jackie broke with tradition of boiled egg and went with a cheese omelet this morning

Easter decoration on the ship. We laughed as now we see the mannequins looking through the windows of the ship’s shop. The smell of chocolate is fantastic.

Took me 25 days to learn the secret of beating this ship’s Wi-Fi and posting videos. The videos need to be less than five seconds.
We got the laundry out this morning. This is the form that we use when we send out the laundry. One of the best amenities for the World Cruise is free unlimited laundry. The laundry is returned the next day by 5pm unless you put your wrong cabin number like I did a few days ago and entered 10024. The butler Ketan recognized my handwriting and we received the washed, hung and folded laundry.

Easy lunch today. Jackie got sushi and I got two pieces of cheese pizza

This is the packet of information we received for the African Overland Excursion. We will leave from Durban, South Africa on the morning of May 16th and return to the ship in Cape Town the evening of May 20th. I visited Chobe Game Lodge and Victoria Falls in 2015. I think that I am more excited for Jackie, David and Marta to see the falls and lodge than I am about going on the safari again. I hope it will be amazing as it was for me the first time I went.

I really should not have posted this page as it is completely wrong on day 2. The destinations desk indicated we would receive an updated copy in the next few days. Days 1 and 3 are correct as is the detailed schedule starting on the bottom of the next page.

I told Jackie the visa costs are like the traffic lights in Rome and Cairo. They are just a suggestion, and the personnel will charge us whatever they want to earn extra money for the day. Now I learned after my first visit to bring enough US dollars to cover whatever figure they want to hit us with.

Tonight is a Captain’s Party. I believe they have these parties every new segment, so this is our second.
Tomorrow is Mystery Island, Vanuatu. It was a place I had circled that I was looking forward to visiting. Nobody lives on the island so it will be interesting.
