Sunday March 8th we woke up and had breakfast in the main dining room, then returned to the cabin to finish putting things away. I went to the IT department called Lync to see why I could not connect my laptop to the Wi-Fi. It was easily fixed. After a quick lunch at The Waves Grill, we finished up in the cabin. I went off to the Cigar Lounge to meet a fellow passenger David Chen who I connected with through the Facebook group for this cruise. I encourage you to follow along on this group page as some passengers have some great posts daily. 2026 Oceania Vista World Cruisers | Facebook

I had the chance to also meet David’s companion, Marta Kellam who posts on her personal page and also the above group page. The two of them joined the World Cruise in Miami and will do the complete 180 days. I am sure we will connect again soon. I enjoyed meeting them, just super people.

Jackie went to a speaker’s series that Oceania presents. Since we both enjoy history, I am sure we will attend these when we can. The presentation was An Introduction to the Pacific and Jackie enjoyed it. She also went to the library to pick up a book. I will read one on this cruise. Should not be too difficult, right? One book in 120 days.

Last night was The Captain’s Cocktail Celebration. Hey, we surprised ourselves as we actually attended. Well, sort of because we went to the Martini Bar. After the cocktail hour was over,/ we went to the dining room but there was a long wait so we walked around, went back to the cabin to continue getting it in order and then went back for dinner. I need a reminder to take photos of the menu and meal. I will get better.

David Chen had given me the suggestion of bringing a humidor, so I bought a cheap one and packed it and brought it along for the ride.

Photo of the main dining room. I will go around the ship early in the morning and take photos to post while no other passengers are around. This ship is really beautiful.

Couple of meal photos — everyday in The Waves Grill there is something special being prepared. On Sunday it was beef and chicken on a sword, or they called it Mixed Grill on a Sword. The other photo is Jackie’s Mac and Cheese at dinner. Promise to do a better job of menu and meal photos.

I must admit this was a strange Mac and cheese. I think the chef forgot the cheese.,
