Day 113 Sunday June 28th (7 days to go) — We had a relaxing day preparing for the birthday party for John Meyer. The ship’s general manager Gabriell arranged for us to have a dinner party for John in Privee. Gabriell attended along with Liviu, who is one of the onboard future cruise consultants. Then, we had an additional surprise guest. Jean Pierre Parent who was on the ship presenting his act. He is a comedian magician and John asked him after his earlier performance to join us at dinner. The night was a great night of fun and amazing food. Gabriell and Liviu are both from Romania and were just so funny as they exchanged stories of their lives on board cruise ships working. Also, JP told us stories of his 29 years performing on cruise ships. One of the best things was when Gabriell and JP realized they both were on a cruise ship in Caribbean a long time ago that also was a ferry and they both remember it as a twice a day booze cruise.
Nights like this one make you forget the rainy days in ports, the missed ports and the cruise deviation to western Africa.

Kevin had pulled a King of Spades from the deck. JP ended pulling the card from the deck, also peeled a King of Spades off the box of cards and finally there was an imprint of the card on the box. We just had no idea.

Somehow he was able to place the card in his mouth without me realizing it. I had put on my “readers” to try and catch him, but you can tell from my laughter and hand slap he outdid me
