Day 44 Sunday April 19th (76 days to go) — We slept in as much as we could tired out from our overland stay in Sydney. We woke up at 6am and forced ourselves to go back to sleep and work up a little after 9am. Today is a Sunday at sea which means we get to experience the brunch served in the Grand Dining Room. There was an enormous amount of food. We shared a table with John and Joan Meyer from Slidell. One of the things we have enjoyed since getting back from Sydney is catching up with friends we have made on the ship. By the time we got to the brunch there were a number of passengers, so I did not take any photos of the spread. Hopefully between Singapore and Southampton we will have another Sunday at sea and with less passengers I will take photos. Our photos of the brunch are about John and the laughs we had with him.

This afternoon I took a nap trying to get over this head cold and Jackie went down to the reception and destinations desk with question. When I woke up at 5:30pm it became clear very quickly she did not like the answers she received to her questions. This will become a work in progress as she attempts to determine what is going on with our missing 25% discount on excursions that we purchased through Oceania.

On the second page of today’s Currents it should have been dedicated to me after the issues I had obtaining our passports to travel independently to Sydney. I don’t care what they have to say or post, I followed these directions exactly as they state on page two. They f’ed up, not me.

John had come around the corner with a donut looking like a kid with his hand caught in the cookie jar. I missed that photo but talked him into getting another donut and snapped these two photos of him.

This lady sitting at the table next to us is named Maureen, but she goes by Mo. She is a super nice woman who has become really good friends with Holly and Kevin Guidry from Houma. She is a solo traveler who is originally from the UK but has lived in San Francisco a long time. We love talking to her as she does not mind speaking her mind.

One night we were sitting in the lobby area of the ship with John and Joan when Mo walked up and proceeded to tell John that he had the most beautiful knees on the ship. So, today when we saw her John said let’s see if she notices my knees and pulled his napkin up so his knees would show. Sure enough when she turned around the first thing she did was grab his knees and say how beautiful his knees were. We got a good laugh from it and I captured a photo.

Tonight we ate at Red Ginger with Kevin and Holly. It was a great night with laughs. It has been fun hanging with them on the ship.

Lane started with the pork egg rolls.

Kevin and Holly shared an appetizer with sushi and tempura beef, chicken, shrimp and calamari.

Lane had a second appetizer of glazed prawns.

Kevin tried the duck and watermelon salad.

Lane had teriyaki beef for an entree.

Jackie had the duck and watermelon salad as her entree

Kevin and Holly each had the tempura soft shell crab for an entree

Tomorrow we are in Kupang, Indonesia and have an Oceania excursion although neither of us remember what this shore excursion is. We do know it lasts seven hours and we have to tender to the port.
