Day 60 Wednesday May 6th (60 days to go) — Our halfway point in The World Cruise for the 120-day passengers. It feels strange knowing that we now begin to go downhill in our daily countdown to 120. It is amazing how fast the first 60 days have passed. We have had some bad during the first 60 days with the big itinerary diversion, rain in almost every port and with me suffering from bug bites for almost 30 of the 60 days. But the good has easily surpassed the bad for the first 60 days.

Today we celebrate crossing the equator again and since Holly and Kevin missed the first crossing, they get to be initiated today. The ceremony was different from the one we had for Jackie and I, but it was fun to see them going through it. Also, a difference is with this one was the initiation of some crew members, which was a real mess.

Very light breakfast with Jackie getting oatmeal and Lane had a bowl of fruit

Crossing the Equator Ceremony

The five crew members had a much different initiation from the passengers.

How the area looked after the crew initiation

Holly and Kevin getting ready for their turn to kiss the fish and be turned into Shellbacks from their Pollywags characters.

Kevin preparing to kiss the fish and Holly encouraging him

Yeah, she ain’t kissing him goodnight for sure after this

Kevin said this was not so bad…laughing

It rained a little later in the afternoon and we caught this rainbow from our balcony

Marta painted a picture of the rainbow in her art class

Another beautiful sunset to end the day

Someone in the group sent this to the others as we were looking at more possible changes to the itinerary.
